2 months ago I was asked by an elderly woman in Sighisoara, Romania if I had lost my legs in a car accident
6 weeks ago I was asked by a bar patron in Helena, Montana if I still wore my dog tags from Iraq.

I didn't even see his disability until after I started reading! One Stare - it certainly gets you to see the perspective of the life in the shoes of a "freak" (and I choose that word on purpose because that's the way I "see" the look he gets from people, disabled in such a manner). He must be a very strong person. I found it a bit sad...
